Welcome to my new blog and website in the making. My name is Dawn and I am the owner/designer/maker at Lillycraft where I hand make sterling and fine silver jewellery. A few weeks ago I decided to rebrand. I just didn’t feel like Lillycraft fitted anymore and I have always struggled with my brand identity. Craft was ok when I was experimenting with different things and finding my niche but now I’ve settled at making silver jewellery I feel its time for something more specific and meaningful. I wanted to keep Lilly as this is a family name and the line that I believe has passed down to me my creative side. So with this in mind I thought it would be nice to extend it to Lillybank. Peter Lilly was a stonemason and he built a large house which contained 4 separate family homes and he named it Lillybank. Peter Lilly and his family resided in one of the homes and for many years it was the focal point for family get togethers and the source of many happy memories for my mum and our extended family. Grandpa Lilly was my gran’s grandpa and my gran was a very special and creative person. She was involved in creating in one form or another all her life and passed on her love of craft to me. For many years she created works of art in sugar and petal paste and I was lucky to be taught so much by her. I like to try and use her techniques in some of my silver work now. So this is how Lillybank Silver was born. Over the next few weeks I would like to share with you my rebranding journey and hopefully you will follow me as I develop and expand my fledgling business.
Thanks for reading, Dawn
